There is a moment when the storm has already passed, yet its traces remain.

After the Storm is an original oil painting by Katharina Rubin about transformation, rebirth and the arrival of something new.

Rubin builds the composition through layers of rose and salmon tones, luminous gold and darker, distressed passages. The gold does not appear untouched or merely decorative. It emerges through and beneath the darker surface, carrying the marks of what came before.

Movement runs through the painting, but it is no longer the movement of chaos. Forms overlap, dissolve and reappear, creating the sense of a landscape after an inner storm — changed and marked, yet opening again toward light.

The work does not deny what has passed. Instead, it transforms it. What remains becomes part of something new.

After the Storm speaks about the point at which an ending quietly becomes a beginning — when the storm settles, the old loses its hold, and a new chapter has already begun.
